WES DAVIS
BACKGROUND
· So how did it all begin? Born in London, he spent his growing-up years in Bromley, Kent. Even from an early age, he shared a great love of music with his sisters, Anita and Laura. Raised in a committed Christian environment, life was enjoyed to the full.
· The combination of his local church's gospel music plus the pop sounds of the day blended into the unique 'Wes Davis sound and style’ we know so well today!
· He sites the 'European Christian Music Seminars' in Holland as being very influential on his evolving skills. Rubbing shoulders with the professional likes of Scott Wesley Brown, Steve Taylor, Petra, Jimmy and Carol Owens and others greatly helped him hone his skills. Later his friendships with Jerry Arhelger, Linda Hargrove, John Pantry, and Dave Bilbrough deepened his experience.
· Wes began song writing and performing in his early teens. Greatly influenced, encouraged, and nurtured by many top musicians and experts (in a variety of musical fields) he soaked up the valuable knowledge.
· Gathering momentum, his talents for performing and writing were soon recognised. He soon sharpened his young talent to a cutting edge in both the Christian and Country Music spheres. Conversion came under the ministry of Luis Palau, the World renowned evangelist from Argentina. Later Wes was publicly commended by Dr. Palau before a crowded congregation of ministers and leaders in Luton for his powerful gospel content and forthright ministry in song.
· At the tender age of just eighteen he was spotted by a talent scout for 'Marshall Pickering Records' and signed up.
· Wes' latest Word album is dedicated to his wife, Sue who, he says, is the best friend he could ever have as well as the love of his life. He thanks her too for being a faithful co-worker with him, 'hand in hand in God's harvest field'.
TOURS
· With well-received tours, he fast has become one of the UK's foremost performers of Christian music. Based in Leighton Buzzard in rural Bedfordshire, he lives with his wife, Sue whom he married in March 1997.
· Bookings took him to the far corners of the British Isles (including Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland) plus dates in the USA and an invitation to Africa. He toured also with other artistes and even with the cast of a children's musical,
